Be Thou my Helper in the strife,
O Lord, my strong Defender be;
Thy mighty shield protect my life,
Thy spear confront the enemy.
Amid the conflict, O my Lord,
Thy precious promise let me hear,
The faithful reassuring word:
I am Thy Savior, do not fear.
Ashamed, confounded let them be
Who seek my ruin and disgrace;
O let Thine angel fight for me,
And drive my foes before his face.
Without a cause my life they sought,
Without a cause their plots they laid;
Themselves within their snares be caught,
And be my crafty foes dismayed.
My soul is joyful in the Lord,
In His salvation I rejoice;
To Him my heart will praise accord
And bless His Name with thankful voice.
For who, O Lord, is like to Thee,
Defender of the poor and meek?
The needy Thy salvation see
When mighty foes their ruin seek.
Unrighteous witnesses have stood
And told of crimes beyond belief;
Returning evil for my good,
They overwhelm my soul with grief.
When in affliction they were sad,
I wept and made their grief my own;
But in my trouble they are glad
And strive that I may be o’erthrown.
O Lord, how long wilt Thou delay?
My soul for Thy salvation waits;
My thankfulness will I display
Amid the crowds that throng Thy gates.
Let not my enemies rejoice
And wrongfully exult o’er me;
They speak not peace, but lift their voice
To trouble those that peaceful be.
My foes with joy my woes survey,
But Thou, O Lord, hast seen it all;
O be no longer far away,
Nor silent when on Thee I call.
O haste to my deliverance now,
O Lord, my righteous cause maintain;
My Lord and God alone art Thou;
Awake, and make Thy justice plain.
O Lord, my God, I look to Thee,
Be Thou my righteous Judge, I pray;
Let not my foes exult o’er me
And laugh with joy at my dismay.
With shame and trouble those requite
Who would my righteous cause destroy;
But those who in the good delight,
Let them be glad and shout for joy.
Yea, let the Lord be magnified,
Because Thy servants Thou dost bless;
And I, from morn till eventide,
Will daily praise Thy righteousness.

संघर्ष में तू मेरा सहायक बन,
हे यहोवा, मेरे प्रबल रक्षक हो;
तेरा शक्तिशाली ढाल मेरे जीवन की रक्षा करता है,
तेरा भाला शत्रु का सामना करना।
संघर्ष के बीच, हे मेरे प्रभु,
तेरा अनमोल वादा मुझे सुनने दो,
विश्वासयोग्य आश्वस्त करने वाला शब्द:
मैं तेरा उद्धारकर्ता हूं, डरो मत।
लज्जित, भ्रमित उन्हें रहने दो
जो मेरी बर्बादी और बदनामी चाहते हैं;
हे तेरा दूत मेरे लिए लड़े,
और मेरे शत्रुओं को उसके साम्हने भगाओ।
बिना किसी कारण के उन्होंने मेरे जीवन की तलाश की,
उन्होंने बिना किसी कारण के अपने भूखंड रखे;
उनके जाल में फंस जाओ,
और मेरे धूर्त शत्रु निराश हो जाएं।
मेरी आत्मा प्रभु में आनन्दित है,
उसके उद्धार में मैं आनन्दित हूं;
उसी की स्तुति मेरा हृदय करेगा
और कृतज्ञ वाणी से उसके नाम को आशीर्वाद दें।
क्योंकि, हे यहोवा, तेरे तुल्य कौन है,
गरीबों और नम्र के रक्षक?
जरूरतमंद तेरा उद्धार देखें
जब पराक्रमी शत्रु उनका विनाश चाहते हैं।
अधर्मी गवाह खड़े हुए हैं
और विश्वास से परे अपराधों के बारे में बताया;
मेरी भलाई के लिए बुराई लौटाना,
वे मेरी आत्मा को दुख से भर देते हैं।
जब दु:ख में वे उदास थे,
मैं रोया और उनके शोक को अपना बना लिया;
पर मेरी मुसीबत में वो ख़ुश हैं
और कोशिश करो कि मुझे उखाड़ फेंका जाए।
हे प्रभु, तू कब तक विलम्ब करेगा?
मेरी आत्मा तेरे उद्धार की प्रतीक्षा कर रही है;
मैं अपनी कृतज्ञता प्रदर्शित करूंगा
तेरे फाटकों की भीड़ के बीच।
मेरे शत्रु आनन्दित न हों
और मुझ पर कुटिलता से घमण्ड करो;
वे शांति नहीं बोलते, बल्कि अपनी आवाज उठाते हैं
उन लोगों को परेशान करने के लिए जो शांतिपूर्ण हैं।
मेरे शत्रु खुशी से मेरी विपत्तियों का सर्वेक्षण करते हैं,
परन्तु हे यहोवा, तू ने यह सब देखा है;
हे अब दूर मत रहो,
न ही चुप जब मैं तुझे पुकारूं।
हे अब मेरे छुटकारे के लिए जल्दी करो,
हे यहोवा, मेरा धर्ममय कारण बना रहे;
केवल मेरा प्रभु और परमेश्वर ही तू है;
जागो, और अपने न्याय को स्पष्ट करो।
हे यहोवा, मेरे परमेश्वर, मैं तुझे देखता हूं,
तू मेरा धर्मी न्यायी बन, मैं प्रार्थना करता हूं;
मेरे शत्रु मुझ पर प्रफुल्लित न हों
और मेरी निराशा पर खुशी से हंसो।
शर्म और परेशानी के साथ जो आवश्यक हैं
मेरा नेक काम किसको नाश करेगा;
लेकिन जो अच्छे आनंद में हैं,
वे आनन्दित हों और जयजयकार करें।
हाँ, यहोवा की बड़ाई हो,
क्योंकि तू अपने दासों को आशीष देता है;
और मैं, सुबह से घटना के समय तक,
प्रतिदिन तेरी धार्मिकता की स्तुति करेंगे।
मेरी आत्मा प्रभु में आनन्दित है,
उसके उद्धार में मैं आनन्दित हूं;
उसी की स्तुति मेरा हृदय करेगा
और कृतज्ञ वाणी से उसके नाम को आशीर्वाद दें।
