tune my heart to sing thy grace;

streams of mercy, never ceasing,

call for songs of loudest praise.

Teach me some melodious sonnet,

sung by flaming tongues above;

praise the mount, I’m fixed upon it,

mount of thy redeeming love.

O to grace, how great a debtor,

daily I’m constrained to be,

let thy grace, Lord, like a fetter,

bind my wand’ring heart to thee.

Prone to wander, Lord, I feel it,

prone to leave the God I love;

here’s my heart, Lord, take and seal it;

seal it for thy courts above

तेरा अनुग्रह गाने के लिए मेरे हृदय को धुन दे;

दया की धाराएँ, कभी न रुकने वाली,

ज़ोर से स्तुति के गीतों के लिए बुलाओ।

मुझे कुछ मधुर सॉनेट सिखाओ,

ऊपर ज्वलंत जीभों द्वारा गाया गया;

पर्वत की स्तुति करो, मैं उस पर स्थिर हूं,

तेरे छुड़ाने वाले प्रेम का पर्वत।

हे अनुग्रह, कितना बड़ा ऋणी है,

दैनिक मैं होने के लिए विवश हूँ,

तेरा अनुग्रह, भगवान, एक बेड़ी की तरह,

मेरे भटकते हृदय को तुम से बाँध लो।

भटकने के लिए प्रवृत्त, प्रभु, मैं इसे महसूस करता हूँ,

जिस परमेश्वर से मैं प्रेम करता हूँ उसे छोड़ने को प्रवृत्त;

यहाँ मेरा दिल है, भगवान, इसे ले लो और मुहर लगाओ;

उस पर अपके ऊपर के आंगनोंके लिथे मुहर लगा दे
