By Christ redeemed, in Christ restored,
We keep the memory adored,
And show the death of our dear Lord
Until He come.
His body broken in our stead
Is seen in this memorial bread,
And so our feeble love is fed
Until He come.
The drops of His dread agony,
His life-blood shed for us, we see;
The wine shall tell the mystery
Until He come.
And thus that dark betrayal-night
With the last advent we unite,
By one blest chain of loving rite,
Until He come.
Until the trump of God be heard,
Until the ancient graves be stirred,
And with the great commanding word
The Lord shall come.
O blessed hope! with this elate;
Let not our heart be desolate,
But, strong in faith, in patience wait
Until He come.

हम स्मृति को प्रिय रखते हैं,

उसका शरीर हमारी जगह टूट गया
इस यादगार रोटी में दिखता है,
और इसलिए हमारा कमजोर प्यार खिलाया जाता है
उसके आने तक।
उसकी भयानक पीड़ा की बूँदें,
उनका जीवन-रक्त हमारे लिए बहा, हम देखते हैं;
शराब रहस्य बताएगी
उसके आने तक।
और इस तरह वह काली विश्वासघात-रात
पिछले आगमन के साथ हम एकजुट होते हैं,
प्रेम संस्कार की एक श्रृखंला से,
उसके आने तक।
जब तक भगवान की तुरही नहीं सुनी जाती,
जब तक प्राचीन कब्रों को उभारा नहीं जाता,
और महान आज्ञाकारी शब्द के साथ
प्रभु आयेंगे।
हे धन्य आशा! इस उत्साह के साथ;
हमारा हृदय उजाड़ न हो,
लेकिन, विश्वास में मजबूत, धैर्य में प्रतीक्षा करें
उसके आने तक।
