Be Thou my Guardian and my Guide;
And hear me when I call;
Let not my slippery footsteps slide,

The world, the flesh, and Satan dwell
Around the path I tread;
O, save me from the snares of hell,
Thou Quickener of the dead.
And if I tempted am to sin,
And outward things are strong,
Do Thou, O Lord, keep watch within,

Still let me ever watch and pray,
And feel that I am frail;
that if the tempter cross my way,

और अगर मैं पाप करने के लिए परीक्षा हूँ,
और बाहरी चीजें मजबूत हैं,
क्या तू, हे यहोवा, भीतर जागते रहो,
और मेरी आत्मा को गलत से बचाओ।
फिर भी मुझे कभी देखने और प्रार्थना करने दो,
और महसूस करो कि मैं कमजोर हूँ;
कि अगर प्रलोभन मेरे रास्ते को पार कर जाए,
फिर भी वह प्रबल नहीं हो सकता।
