A Child this day is born,
A Child of high renown.
Most worthy of a scepter,
A scepter and a crown.
Noëls, noëls, noëls,
Noëls sing all we may,
Because the King of all kings
Was born this blessèd day.
The which the holy prophets
Spoke of long time before,
That from the fall of Adam
He should us all restore.
This Child both God and Man
From Heaven down to us came,
He is the King of all Kings,
And Jesus is His Name.
These tidings shepherds heard
In their field watching their fold,
Was by an angel unto them
That night revealed and told.
Who standing near by them
To them shinèd so bright,
That they amazèd were
At that most glorious sight.
To whom the angel spoke,
Saying, “Be not afraid;
Be glad, poor silly shepherds;
Why are you so dismayed?”
“For lo, I bring you tidings
Of gladness and of mirth,
Which cometh to all people by
This holy Infant’s birth.”
“Him hath God lifted up
As light and shepherd’s horn,
Which in the city of David
This present time was born.”
“The only Son of God was He
The Lord and God most highest;
And He is the true Shepherd,
The young Child Jesus Christ.”
Then there was with the angel
A host incontinent
Of heavenly bright soldiers,
Which from the Highest was sent.
Lauding the Lord our God,
And His celestial King;
“All glory be in paradise,”
This heavenly host did sing.
“Glory be unto our God,
That sitteth still on high,
With praises and with triumph great,
And joyful melody.”
But when this holy army
Of heavenly soldiers bright
Was unto God returnèd
And vanished out of sight;
The shepherds hearts joyful
At this great glorious news
That the King of all kings
Was risen amongst the Jews.
Without the least of hindrance
Anon they went in then,
And found the young Child Jesus Christ
Thus born in Bethlehem.
And as the angel told them,
So to them did appear;
They found the young Child Jesus Christ
With Mary his mother dear.
Now such a place it was
Where this was come to pass
For want of room this Child was laid
Betwixt an ox and ass.
Not sumptuously, but simply
Was this young King arrayed,
A manger was the cradle
Where this young Child was laid.
No pride at all was found
In this most holy Child,
But He being void of all sin
The Lamb of god most mild.
His body unto bitter pains
He gave to set us free:
He is our Savior Jesus Christ
And none but only He.
To Father, Son and Holy Ghost
All glory be therefore,
To Whom be all dominion
Both now and evermore.

“देखो, मैं तुम्हें ख़बर देता हूँ
हर्ष और उल्लास का,
जो सभी लोगों के पास आता है
यह पवित्र शिशु का जन्म।”
“उसे परमेश्वर ने ऊपर उठाया है
प्रकाश और चरवाहे के सींग के रूप में,
जो दाऊद नगर में है
यह वर्तमान समय पैदा हुआ था।”
“वह परमेश्वर का इकलौता पुत्र था
भगवान और भगवान सर्वोच्च;
और वह सच्चा चरवाहा है,
छोटा बच्चा यीशु मसीह।”
तब परी के साथ था
एक मेजबान असंयम
स्वर्गीय उज्ज्वल सैनिकों की,
जो ऊपर से भेजा गया था।
हमारे परमेश्वर यहोवा की स्तुति करो,
और उसका दिव्य राजा;
“सभी महिमा स्वर्ग में हो,”

चरवाहों का मन हर्षित होता है

वह सभी राजाओं का राजा है
यहूदियों के बीच उठ खड़ा हुआ था।

अब ऐसी जगह थी
जहां यह हो गया था

एक बैल और गधे के बीच।
वैभव से नहीं, बल्कि सरलता से
क्या यह युवा राजा तैयार था,
चरनी पालना था
जहां इस मासूम बच्ची को रखा गया था।
अभिमान बिल्कुल नहीं पाया गया
इस सबसे पवित्र बच्चे में,
लेकिन वह सभी पापों से रहित है
भगवान का मेमना सबसे कोमल।
उसके शरीर में कड़वी पीड़ा होती है
उसने हमें आज़ाद करने के लिए दिया:
वह हमारा उद्धारकर्ता यीशु मसीह है
और कोई नहीं केवल वह।
पिता, पुत्र और पवित्र आत्मा को
इसलिए सारी महिमा हो,
किसका हो सब आधिपत्य
दोनों अब और हमेशा के लिए।
